Paternity Fraud?

fraudWe all have heard of credit card fraud, mortgage fraud, and even tax fraud…but Paternity? Unfortunately, it’s true and is happening more than you would think. So what is Paternity Fraud exactly? It happens when a new mother claims a man is the biological father to her newborn baby when she herself knows or even has doubts that he isn’t all because she knows that he can, and probably will, support her and that child better than the true father could or would. Sometimes the mother herself may not even know who the real father is and just goes with the best option. Usually it’s accomplished with a set of lies whether to the child service agencies or the presumed father himself by playing on his emotions like a true sociopath would by saying things like; “Look see, the baby even has your nose and eyes” to help pull off the ruse. These mothers often convince the man to love the baby and pay child support all the while laughing behind his back knowing they are now controlling a man into loving and supporting another man’s kid. There’s even a joke that goes along with this scenerio:

Today is my daughter’s 18th birthday. I’m so happy for my baby girl but I’m also so glad that this is my very last child support payment. I called my daughter to come over to my house, and when she got here, I said to her, “Baby girl, I want you to take this last check over to your momma’s house; you tell her that this is the last check she’s ever going to get from me, then I want you to come back here and tell me the expression she had on her face when you told her.” So she took the check over to her. I was so anxious to hear what her mother had to say and the expression she must of had. When my daughter returned, I said, “Well now, so what did your momma have to say about that check?” – “She told me to tell you that you are not my daddy and to stop calling me your baby girl.”

Just imagine the psychological impact of being deceived into raising or helping raise a child that you had believed to be yours for decades and then also now having the permanent reminder of the infidelity your partner committed.
